Lindsay Daniel built her leadership philosophy the hard way, through challenge, feedback that stung, and the kind of workplace lessons you don’t forget. She knows what it’s like to question your confidence, to be misunderstood, and to find your voice in environments that didn’t always make it easy to use it.

Those experiences didn’t break her; they built her. They shaped her belief that leadership isn’t about titles or perfection — it’s about self-awareness, courage, and how you show up when things get hard.

Today, Lindsay helps professionals and organizations strengthen the human side of business — through better communication, emotionally intelligent leadership, and cultures built on trust. She brings candor, curiosity, and a calm confidence to every conversation, helping people grow in ways that create both results and respect.

Because real leadership starts where comfort ends — and that’s exactly where Lindsay’s work begins.

Before founding The Ambitious Coach, Lindsay Friesen built her leadership career in the Oil & Gas industry, serving as Chief Safety Officer and Corporate Culture & Community Engagement Lead. She led safety and culture programs for teams of 500+, managed complex stakeholder relationships, and experienced firsthand how communication, trust, and emotional intelligence can make—or break—a workplace.

Today, Lindsay channels that real-world experience into developing leaders and transforming workplace cultures.

As founder of The Ambitious Coach, she delivers custom training solutions that help organizations master the human side of profit and excellence. Her work focuses on leadership, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, and communication—equipping professionals to lead with clarity, confidence, and calm.

Lindsay is also a Certified DiSC Instructor and teaches in the Continuing Education department at Northwestern Polytechnic, where she facilitates courses in Leadership, Change Management, Performance Management, Conflict, Communication, and Team Development.

Her training is known for being candid, intentional, and deeply relatable—bridging theory with the realities of modern leadership. She helps leaders navigate people, pressure, and performance with more skill and less stress.

Because leadership isn’t a title, it’s how you show up when things get messy. And that’s exactly where Lindsay thrives.

My Journey

My path hasn’t been linear. It’s been layered, messy, and deeply human. I’ve experienced the highs of leadership and the lows of burnout. I’ve navigated challenging relationships, both personally and professionally, and built a career in industries that tested my resilience, self-awareness, and sense of purpose.

But that craving for more meaning, more impact, and more truth never left me.

Through years of personal growth, mentorship, and hard-earned lessons, I learned that success isn’t about titles or task lists. It’s about emotional intelligence, trust, and the courage to look in the mirror and lead better, starting with yourself.

My career in Oil and Gas as a Chief Safety Officer and later as a Corporate Culture and Community Engagement Lead gave me a front-row seat to every kind of leadership imaginable. I learned the power of communication, the cost of avoidance, and the ripple effect one strong or weak leader can have on an entire team.

Today, that experience fuels everything I do.

As founder of The Ambitious Coach, I work with organizations to transform culture, strengthen leadership, and build teams that actually like working together.

I’ve seen firsthand how self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and real conversation change everything, from how teams perform to how people feel showing up to work.

This is my purpose now: helping organizations and leaders build environments where people don’t just work; they grow, thrive, and lead with heart..
